The Race of Grace is a weekend-long event that will celebrate
its 5th year in 2008. Every year, we select three recipient
agencies located in the Raleigh District of the United Methodist
Church that are focused on one particular need. This year the
focus is on homelessness, and we made a deliberate effort to
highlight the homeless that are often ignored: runaways, youth,
victims of domestic violence, and families.
The Race of Grace is the last weekend of April. The two-flight
golf tournament kicks off the weekend on Friday, April 25, at
Neuse Golf Club in Clayton. On Saturday, April 26, the 25 and 50
mile bike ride leaves Louisburg College and winds its way through
scenic and serene Franklin County. Our cornerstone event occurring
on Sunday April 27 is a family-friendly 5K walk/run through
downtown Raleigh. Each of these events has its own personality and
each is so much fun. Please put these dates on your calendar!
