This Year’s Terrific Trio

Each year, the Weekend of Grace focuses its efforts on one poverty-related issue. On a rotating basis, these issues are: hunger, homelessness, and a lack of adequate healthcare. The 2010 events proudly support the influence of three unique organizations devoted to addressing the needs of those without adequate healthcare.

Each of these three life-affecting agencies will share equally in the proceeds of this year’s Weekend of Grace. Please, visit their websites to get a closer look at the work being done - and then, be generous during the Weekend of Grace. Every dollar makes a difference in the life of an uninsured, or underinsured individual.

  • remain aware of and leverage area resources to maximize our impact within the community.
  • provide a challenging, rewarding, and supportive environment for staff and volunteers.

I lost my job & insurance, after 22 years, due to the economy, last year. I was laid off three times, due to no work. I have to take prostate medicine daily, my life & health depend on it.  There have been times I would not have had it, if it were not for the very good folks at FCVIM. It’s good to know, there are good people that help others in need, you are an inspiration.   I sincerely thank you for your kindness.

Project Access

Project Access of Johnston County
is a physician-volunteer initiative that gives low-income, uninsured county residents access to comprehensive medical care. Through Project Access, physicians and community partners like Johnston Medical Center, donate medical services without receiving reimbursement or compensation.
Project Access is not health insurance. It is however, an innovative program designed to help community residents stabilize their health in a time of need when health insurance is not available.

Project Access exists to assist communities across the nation with establishing and sustaining coordinated systems of charity care. There are ten active Project Access programs in North Carolina, each unique to its own community.
